The bust measurement,
start by wrapping the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust:
- Wrap snugly but not tightly, going under the arms and all the way around
- The tape should be parallel to the ground
- Wear a bra for measurement accuracy
The bust length and hem length
- For a shoulder to bust-length, place the tape tip on the top of your shoulder and bring it down to the bottom of your bust
- For the entire length, start from the shoulder to where you want the hem to be
- Keep the tape at a 90-degree angle from the ground
The sleeve length and arm circumference
- For circumference, wrap the tape around the widest part of your upper arm. Bend your arm at the elbow so it leaves a little room for movement
- For length, simply place the tape at the end of your shoulder and down to where you want the sleeve to finish
The shoulder width
- Measure the widest point of your back from one shoulder edge to the other
- Tape should be parallel to the ground

The waist:
- Wrap the measuring tape the whole way around your waist, just under your ribcage.
- To find the perfect spot, bend to one side and notice the crease formed under your ribcage, that’s where the tape should be
- Keep the tape parallel to the ground
The hips
- Measure around your backside at the fullest point
- Keep the tape parallel to the ground
The inner seam
- Measure your inner leg from the crotch to where you desire the hem to be
- Tape should be at 90-degrees from the ground
The outer seam
- Measure the side of your leg from the waistline to where the pants will end
- Tape should be at 90-degrees from the ground
The total rise
- Place the tape at the centre of your waist and measure down to the crotch. For a higher or lower waist measure accordingly as desired.
- Tape should be at a 90-degree angle from the ground
